2. The Avett Brothers - "A Father's First Spring"

3. Drive-by Truckers - "Outfit"
"Don't call what you're wearing an outfit. Don't ever say your car is broke." The very best song about dads giving advice has given us plenty to be knowledgeable about.
4. Horace Silver - "Song for My Father"
The Horace Silver Quintet's album Song for My Father was released on the Blue Note label in 1965. Silver's trip to Brazil served as the inspiration for the record. A photograph of Silver's father, John Tavares Silver, featured on the album cover, and the title composition is dedicated to him.
5. Will Smith - "Just the Two of Us"
Movie megastar Will Smith raps about his relationship with his eldest son, Trey, in "Just the Two of Us" from his 1997 debut album Big Willie Style. It still sounds genuinely sweet and infectious after all these years.
6. Kenny Chesney - "There Goes My Life"
This country tune tells the story of a young man who becomes a father unexpectedly, but immediately falls in love with his daughter and discovers the joy of fatherhood. "A couple of years of up all night and a few thousand diapers later," Chesney sings, "that mistake he thought he made covers up the refrigerator / Oh yeah, he loves that little girl."
7. Harry Chapin – “Cats in The Cradle”
The singer-songwriter, Chapin, tracks the relationship between a father and his son who are unable to spend time together. The song yearns for the day that the two will be able to communicate, however, that day never comes. It perfectly captures both the anxiety of fatherhood and the joy of seeing a son grow up. 8. Paul Simon - "Father and Daughter"
"Father and Daughter" is a song written about American singer-songwriter Paul Simon's daughter. The song is about a father's love for his daughter as well as his role as a father.
